Terry Pearl is the Senior Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for NYU Langone Medical Center. She leads a team of professionals with responsibility for raising corporate, foundation, and other institutional donor support for NYU Langone’s highest priorities. She previously served as Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at The Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City and Morristown Memorial Health Foundation in Morristown, New Jersey. Ms. Pearl is completing a Master of Public Administration in Non-Profit Management and a Master of Business Administration in Leadership from the University of Miami. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Art History from the University of Pennsylvania. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Learning Community Charter School in Jersey City, the Association of Fundraising Professionals New Jersey Chapter, and the Morristown Rotary Club, and has been named a Paul Harris Fellow by Rotary International. Ms. Pearl is a graduate of the Leadership Morris program, sponsored by the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, and has served as a presenter for the Association of Fundraising Professionals and the Association of Healthcare Philanthropy. She has also taught grantwriting courses for post-doctoral students and researchers at NYU and served as a grant panelist for the Arts Council of the Morris Area and the State of Florida.

Terry oversees the corporate and foundation relations portfolio at NYULMC, with specific responsibility for gifts of $1 million+, and provides coverage for the Cancer Institute, Skirball Institute of Biomolecular Science, Basic Science, and Research.

Lily Cabrera is the Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations for NYU Langone Medical Center. She previously served as the associate director of corporation and foundation relations at Seton Hall University. She holds a Master's degree in Business Administration from the Stillman School of Business at Seton Hall University and a Bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society and is a recipient of a CASE District II Accolades Award for Proposal Writing (Gold).

In her role at NYU Langone, Lily covers the Cardiac and Vascular Institute; the Department of Medicine, including the Divisions of Geriatrics, Gastroenterology, Pulmonary, Critical Care, Sleep Medicine, Endocrinology, General Internal Medicine, Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Medical Humanities, Nephrology, and Translational Medicine; the Department of Emergency Medicine; Surgery; Anesthesiology; Ophthalmology; and the Department of Population Health.

Elsa Dessberg

Elsa Dessberg is one of two Associate Directors of Corporate and Foundation Relations for NYU Langone Medical Center. Ms. Dessberg has over 25 years of non-profit experience, raising funds from private donors, foundations, corporations, and local, state, and federal sources. She has worked for organizations with varied missions, including the American Academy in Rome, the cultural organization that awards the prestigious Rome Prize fellowships to scholars (history, art history, and literature) and artists (visual arts, music, and design); the Queens Botanical Garden, an organization with roots that date to the 1939 New York World’s Fair, and now serves the nation’s most culturally diverse county through its plant collections, demonstration/education programs, and green projects; and NYU’s Office of Academic Affairs (at Washington Square) in support of multi-institutional faculty development programs. She received a Master’s degree in English from New York University.

Elsa’s areas of coverage for NYU Langone include Cancer, Medical Education, Adult Psychiatry, Otolaryngology, Radiology, OB/GYN, Dermatology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuroscience, Nursing, Social Work, the Mind Body Program, Scholarships, Student Activities, Patient-Centered Care, and the Free Clinic. 

Maxwell Winer

Max began his career in development in Ithaca, New York at The Kitchen Theatre Company, a non-profit theater that produces both new and existing works in an intimate setting, and provides programming for underserved youth. Prior to coming to NYU Langone Medical Center, Max worked in various capacities of development, including government, foundation, and corporate relations at Safe Horizon, a non-profit that provides services to victims of domestic violence, child abuse, trafficking and other crime victims throughout New York City. Most recently as the manager of corporate partnerships, Max worked as a liaison with corporate donors, building new relationships and expanding funding opportunities, and managed Safe Horizon's junior council. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Writing from Ithaca College.

At NYU Langone, Max focuses his work on expanding corporate and foundation funding for the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine, the Steven D. Hassenfeld Children’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, the Hospital for Joint Diseases, the Center for Musculoskeletal Care, Child Life, Child Psychiatry, and the Departments of Orthopaedics, Pediatrics, and Urology.

Sasha Chait

Sasha Chait graduated from Clark University with a Bachelor’s degree in international development and social change. She began her work with non-profits at the Oak Hill Community Development Corporation and at WomensTrust, Inc., which provides microloans, healthcare, and education in Pokuase, Ghana. Most recently, Sasha served as the Assistant Director of Development and Communications at the Henry Lee Willis Community Center in Worcester, Massachusetts. She coordinates all of the administrative aspects of the Corporate and Foundation Relations team, writing grants, maintaining our grants calendar, and organizing site visits and meetings with donors.

Senem Suzek

Senem Suzek has been working with the Corporate and Foundation Relations team since March of 2011, initially as a volunteer, and since October of 2011 as a Temporary Project Associate. She has Bachelor’s degrees in psychology and art history from Gettysburg College, and a Master’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in art history. Senem has been acting as the Grants Coordinator since June 2012. In this role, she manages and administers all aspects of corporate and foundation grants post-award including gift/pledge transmittals, grant agreements, and reports to donors, and acts as a liaison with SPA, Finance, UDAR, and Legal.
